Hat’s That Won’t Break Your Bank

Hey everyone! Happy August! Who’s ready for fall? I know I am but in Huntington Beach we don’t get fall vibes until late October. The sun is blaring outside just as hot as ever. So while my clothes will still say summer, my hats can say whatever I want them to!!! I have been so in love with my hat collection, but it was hard to find a hat under $50 that was still good quality! I am writing this post because I follow ton’s of other bloggers but when I would see them post a hat and then click on said hat, it would be like $150!! I refuse to pay more than $50 for a hat and that’s really pushing it. When did hat’s become so darn expensive?! I really love the popular brands Lack of Color and Lovely Bird, but their hats (while beautifully made) are quite a hefty purchase. I am proud to say that I do own these brand of hat’s, BUT i definitely did’t purchase them at full retail or even wholesale price. I do a lot of research to find these babes and I’m here to share my secrets.

My first secret is the large closet that is Poshmark. I can Posh all day long if the mood fits. I have found some excellent hats on here including my fave Lack of Color hat! And I got it for under $50! My advice is to make sure it’s authentic, look at the condition and don’t go for the first price offered. You can submit your own offers on Poshmark. Heck you can even try to trade for something of value in your closet!

The next place i have come across a Lovely Bird hat was on Ebay. Again please make sure the hat is authentic if you’re going for a top brand. Look through the pictures to make sure they are real and see what the return policy is.

Another great place to find big name hat’s it Nordstrom Rack.  This is where I stumbled upon my San Diego Hat Company hat for less than $30. Considering the same style hat from Lack of Color run’s about $90, I’d say I did alright.

If you couldn’t care less about the name brand then I suggest taking yourself over to Marshalls, TJMaxx, or Ross. Though very very limited, they always have hats to go with the season. My only suggestion here is to feel the material, look for snags and make sure it fits well. Other than that I have found some really cute fall hats at TJMAXX. If you don’t have one close to you, TJMAXX has some great online finds.

Lovely Bird, Lack of Color and Brixton are my fave hats to sport but I just refuse to pay the price. I really hope this was helpful to you in finding some new fall hats. Where is your fave place to look? Let me know in the comments below!

  1. I am! I am totally ready for fall. I don’t wear hats. As a struggling blonde I am always wanting that SUN on my hair to help keep it blonde, so no hats for me. Your hat collection is super cute though!

  2. Wow, I love your blog. I just discovered Poshmark and love it! I’m not a brand name person but I am a nut for quality! Great hats, which I’m a fan of hats!
