My New Obsession with Hats

Hey all! How’s everyone doing! Spring has sprung and it has really warmed up here in SoCal. People are starting to wear less clothing but how are we protecting our skin people?! One of my favorite and stylish ways is with a cute hat! Here’s why:

When I was a naive teen, I would drag myself to the tanning bed every other day to bake for 15-20 min. I see you cringing and I totally agree! What was I thinking?! Those were also the days that I would bronze beautifully. (unlike now where I burn and then return to pale) Back then we seldom heard of the harms this could do and so I continued to bake. It wasn’t until I found a very odd colored mole in my hairline at age 22 that I began to think back on my stupidity. This mole was in fact made of cancerous cells and was lopped off my poor scalp immediately. It was pretty scary to think what were to happen if I didn’t notice it! Not a lot of people remember to put sunscreen in their hairline or other hard to get places. This was of my doing! After that experience I really changed directions. I wear SPF religiously and if I know I’m going to be in the sun for extended amounts of time, you’d better believe I’m wearing a hat!

Hats are so much fun now! They really are a great accessory and a godsend for protecting against the sun as well as hiding our bad hair days! I’ve noticed that my hats can make all the difference for my outfit when I don’t feel like washing my hair. And there are so many cute styles! Some of my favorites are baseball caps and fedoras. Not only do I feel cute but I’m also keeping my face young and out of the sun! Wear hats people! Below I have linked some adorable hats for under $50! What’s your favorite hat? Chime in , in the comment section!

  1. With an on-line identity of hatrackley, I do have a few hats. Your idea about baking in the sun actually started it with my grandfather giving me a pith helmet to wear while mowing his lawn.

Of your collection, I do not have a boater. I’m jealous.

    This post was delightful.
