It’s that time of year my friends! Pumpkin patch time!!! When I moved to the city I was really worried that I wouldn’t find anything that felt like home. I’m from Northern California where the farm lands roll for miles and miles. It’s easy to find a pumpkin patch or a corn maze near by. However in Southern California I was only seeing pop up pumpkin patches in grocery store or mall parking lots. These don’t give me the genuine fall feels AT ALL! I understand that it’s all some people may have but coming from a place where there’s nothing but open space, these places just aren’t for me. That is why I was so excited to find out about Tanaka Farms in Irvine, CA. Located in Orange County, Tanaka Farms feels like a secluded getaway from city life. It’s an open farm land on the rolling hills behind Irvine. These lands are usually beautiful strawberry fields, but when fall rolls around pumpkins are brought in so the family fun can begin. This year, Hello Kitty made here appearance around the patch making for some fun photo ops with the cute little cat. Tanaka Farms provides rows and rows of pumpkins, wagon rides, a petting zoo, and a genuine corn maze. On the weekends they also have food and other activity booths for families. There is even a small farmers market at checkout where you can purchase locally grown products and decorations. Staff provides friendly and readily available service, and the grounds are kept very clean. I had a blast going to visit Tanka Farms with the SoCal Blogger Babes and if you’re in the area I suggest stopping by as well.
