Why Blog?

There are so many lifestyle/fashion/beauty blogs out there, why start another you ask? The answer is simple. I want to. I feel that this is a great creative outlet for me. The only one I have. You see growing up I was never extraordinary at anything. I was ok at some things and good at others, but never amazing. I always had low self esteem due to peers constantly antagonizing the looks I had yet to grow into. So I never thought of myself as stylish or trendy. It wasn’t until I moved out of my home town that people began to compliment my hair outfits or makeup. I never really paid this attention because once you’ve been put down enough it can be hard to get out of that place. Ill be the first to admit that I wasn’t the cutest kid (see below). My teeth were pretty big and I’ve always had huge eyes. I was also very skinny growing up (man do I miss the skinny days) and had frizzy hair. It was the days before YouTube so give me a break! Kids called me skeletor, buck tooth beaver and horse face.” I was also never wealthy and couldn’t afford what the other kids were wearing, but my mom is the ultimate shopper so she did her absolute best to make sure I wasn’t too far off the trend. This didn’t matter to the other kids though. They saw what they saw. An outcast. Because my town was so small I had to remain with these people through high school. Because “Skeletor” and “buck tooth beaver” was who I’d always been to them, it was hard to have many friends or a boyfriend for that matter. Thankfully I started finding my crew around sophomore year and began growing into my looks. Not enough to have a boyfriend of course but at least enough that people quit name calling. It was during high school that I figured out how to straighten my hair, dye it, put on way too much make up and wax my eyebrows. Agian where was YouTube when I needed it?! But anyway things were looking up!!!! I am now in my early 30’s and I still can’t really say I am extraordinary at anything except shopping!!!! Getting the latest trends at a fraction of the cost is my jam!!! Shopping makes me happy. Maybe because I’m still trying to comfort little Felicia, but happy is happy and it’s my self expression to dress how I want without sticking to just one style. So I started a blog to share my one talent with you, and hopefully help you find some deals along the way. I know this blog was a little personal, but I wrote it to say that everything happens for a reason and past experiences shouldn’t define who you become, this includes the people who used to call me names. No one stays the same. We grow for the better. Now please enjoy these award 90’s school photo’s of me. The last is my Senior year 🙂

Love Felicia
